Each two-hour workshop is led by an experienced NAFAS teacher. Choose the session that best suits your experience and interests.

Jane Rickard

Jane teaches extensively around the country and runs workshops from beginners to advanced.  Her aim is for workshops to be a relaxing and friendly experience with laughter thrown in as a must!

Ring Tones

Contemporary design

Maximum spaces available 25. Maximum of 4 tickets per purchase.

Using a straw wreath ring and test tubes to create an attractive design, the mechanics of which can be kept indefinitely, and the fresh plant materials can be easily changed. Binding of garden twine will be involved, impaling the test tubes in the wreath ring. The test tubes will all be filled with fresh flowers. 


Sue Slark has kindly volunteered to be Jane’s assistant. She is also a National Teacher and from the Surrey Area of NAFAS.

Dawn Meakin

Dawn enjoys inspiring others throughout NAFAS, both at Area and National levels, she enjoys delivering the new NAFAS courses, travelling the country delivering educational, inspirational, workshops to many flower clubs, and thoroughly enjoys judging at shows and club practice nights.

Join Dawn, in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, to learn how to make a unique and bespoke fascinator, with a matching ring and wrist corsage. The manipulation of soft aluminium wire will be the base and decorated with a range of seasonal accessories, enhancing any attire to simply wander around and peruse the rest of the show or save for that special occasion. 


Jayne Merriman has kindly volunteered to be Dawn’s assistant. Jayne is a National Teacher, from the North Midlands Area of NAFAS who adores both teaching and competing at all levels.

Helen Chambers NDSF

Fully Qualified Florist & Area Teacher

Helen made a huge effort to achieve a degree level, Floristry qualification and achieved the highest marks in the country for the year.  Along with her teaching she adores entering competitions and her work as an incredible florist.

Summer Meadows

Preserving summer

Capture the beauty of the British summer in this creative NAFAS workshop. Using a selection of British-grown seasonal flowers, grasses and foliage, you will create a beautiful two-dimensional floral meadow panel. The finished design can be displayed as a decorative piece in its own right or used as a backdrop to enhance a larger floral arrangement.

Along the way, you’ll discover simple and effective techniques for drying and preserving seasonal flowers, helping you extend the enjoyment of your garden and the British growing season long after summer has passed. The workshop will also explore flower selection, preparation, and the best methods for achieving lasting colour, texture, and natural beauty in dried botanical designs. 


Rosemarie Oliver, an excellent teacher from the North Midlands Area of NAFAS, has agreed to be Helen’s assistant and looks forward to working together at the Show.

Margaret Trepant

Margaret is a very keen competitor, a teacher and judge. Margaret loves contemporary techniques and styles and working with transparency, which this design does.

Summer Garden Design

Maximum spaces available 25. Maximum of 4 tickets per purchase.

A handmade wire structure with tubes for the small garden flowers. A style perfect for a collection of delicate summer flowers. 

Jacqui Arm has volunteered to be Margaret’s assistant. She is also from Surrey; a lovely flower arranger and a brilliant competitor. 

Ability level
No particular skill required, suitable for keen beginners and more experienced arrangers. Involves wire work so some manual dexterity is required.
